Wow! This Makes Me Feel Really great!

John T. Unger June 7, 2006

Check out the post about TypePad Hacks on TypePad Featured Blogs!

They had some really nice things to say:

You might think that Six Apart, as a company, would be embarrassed by Unger's focus on explaining tricks to extend TypePad's functionality, or chagrined that he polls his readers about what features we should implement next, but the truth is: We're thrilled. Not only is TypePad Hacks a tremendous benefit to all TypePad customers, especially those who want to ask unique questions or try to "push the envelope," but it's also incredibly useful for us to look over Unger's shoulder and absorb the feedback his readers are giving. And we can assure you, we are most certainly looking. Finally, we think it's an amazing testament to blogging and to TypePad that Unger thought the best solution for his effort was to start a blog and to use TypePad. We couldn't agree more. While no formal relationship exists between TypePad Hacks and TypePad, we have talked with Unger and consider him a wonderful asset to the community.

I'd like to add to this that I've really enjoyed my contact with everyone at TypePad. They really are good people, working hard to make a great product. The coolest thing is that they do listen, even when they think I'm coming from way out in left field on something. It feels to me also that the relationship has been good for everyone. And I get to talk to really interesting people, which is a total bonus (both readers and people at TypePad).

Those of you who read TypePad Hacks regularly and/or comment on posts are the ones who have really made this possible, though. It's the community here that gives this blog the momentum to really have a voice and influence. I love the fact that this kind of dialogue and collaboration has become possible.

Heck, I'm all glowing now (blush).

Couldn't have happened to a better blog! You have been more than responsive and helpful to every inane problem I've encountered. Thanks for being so tuned in to helping folks have a better blogging experience!

Thanks everyone!

For some reason I'm not getting emails as comments come in… so if I'm a little slow to respond today, that's why. Well, that and being a bit overwhelmed and rolling around giggling, etc. heh. I'll make sure I get back to everyone individually as quickly as possible to answer new questions, etc.

Good thing I have a comments feed that I can check! Those of you who haven't yet set one up can try this hack: http://www.typepadhacks.org/2006/03/how_to_make_fol.html

Graham says:

Hey - you too - me no comments via email neither. Thought it was a glitch in my settings, but now you mention it maybe it's more widespread...

Oh... and well done on the mention. Well deserved :)

john t unger says:

Graham,

Thanks! And thanks for letting me know I'm not alone on this… I submitted a help ticket, so maybe the emailo notices will be fixed soon.
