UPDATE: I found someone who's working out just great… Dave Weiss is his name and he's been writing a lot of code for clients, to universal acclaim. Rock on, Dave! I'm still interested in hearing from other coders who feel they're a good match. Dave will be the main guy, but if we get really busy it's always good to have a back up. And sometimes I can suggest a good coder to other companies looking to hire.
I'm looking for someone who is comfortable working with Advanced Templates and CSS… basically, the sort of Hacks documented here at TypePad Hacks. If you can show me examples you've done of most of the hacks a la carte listed on the Hacks for Hire page, then let's talk.
Ideally, you would also be comfortable working directly with clients to assess their projects, provide an estimate and complete the project. If you'd rather just code, that's fine, but I'll pay more for someone who can work without my intervention or attention.
If you're interested, drop me an email from the contact page or call me at 231.584.2710 between 9-5 Pacific time. This is a freelance position with ongoing work, suitable to your schedule (within reason). Pay is pretty good, etc. Phone interview and samples of your work will be required.

Hey, I never noticed that "print this post" javascript before. Could you do a post on that or point me a link to where that can be done in typepad? Thanks...

Preston,
I've got a post in the works for the print button but it's on hold until I can get one more clever bit of code to work. It combines the pop-up print page, print CSS, inserting actual URLs for text anchor links AND then creating footnotes for the URLs and moving them to the bottom of the page. A print Swiss army hack! The last bit is what's holding it up.
But it will eventually get posted, no fear.

John, as soon as you figure out the last bit on the print page hack, inquiring minds want to know! I'm redesigning my own blog right now. I love the idea of footnotes for the URLs. But if you don't solve that soon, maybe put up the basics of a print page, and update it to be even spiffier with footnotes later? A printing option ads a lot of professionalism to a blog, I think. It implies, for one, that the content is good enough to be worth printing!
