Today I'm going to blog a bunch about Vox, Six Apart's new hosted blog platform. I'm going to break it up into several posts focusing on different ideas and issues surrounding the launch.
Vox is currently in closed beta. Although anyone can read Vox blogs, (mine is here) an invite is required to participate. Invites come in two flavors:
Starter accounts include member profile, neighborhood, and commenting privileges.
Standard accounts include member profile, neighborhood, and full blogging and design privileges.
If you'd like a Starter account so that you can comment on Vox blogs, post a comment below and I'll send you one (be sure to include your email when you comment. If you sign in with TypeKey, I won't be able to email you the invite). I have an unlimited supply of Starter invites.
I also have two Standard accounts to give away. I'd like to give one to someone who uses basic templates and wants to try out something even easier. I'd like to give the other invite to someone who has a lot of experience coding and is fairly skeptical of Vox. I was pretty sure I would not be impressed and I was wrong… I'd like to get an impression of the service from another hardcore user.
If you'd like one of the Standard accounts, leave a comment below and tell me why you are the perfect candidate.

I'd like to see what it's all about, although I remember Typepad saying that current Typepad users would get an invite. I never did! Thanks, and nice work you're doing.

I'll send out Starter account invites to everyone throughout the day. I'm gonna hold on to the two standard account invites for two days to give as many people as possible a chance to snag one.
To get one of the standard accounts, you'll have to explain why you are the perfect candidate as a newbie or uberhacker. I kind of like this idea also because it's a good opportunity for some of the readers to introduce themselves and explain a bit about their motivations for blogging. Don't be shy… once you *do* have a Vox account, you'll be able to blog as privately as you like!

Hmm, I'd like a Starter account, I think -- really I'd like to try the blogging platform, but haven't the energy just now to commit to earning it.

Oooo oooo oooo. (you gotta hear Arnold Horshack from Welcome Back, Kotter in that. My Typepad account expires in September, and I've been contemplating a switch to Wordpress, staying with Typepad, or another service. I'm very intrigued by what I see at Vox. I'd love to help pilot some things there. In addition, I'm trying to develop a new blog called ignorantprotest.com through WordPress, but I'm waaaaay behind the 8-ball on CSS, HTML, etc., so Vox may enable us to get IP up and running well faster.
That's my $.02 for "why I deserve a standard Vox account." ;)

I am interested in one of the two standard accounts. I am working with Realtors and looking to help them develop blogs for their business. The Realtor Magazines have recently been pushing the idea of blogs as a way to grow their business. I have set up a few with typepad accounts but even typepad is a little heavy for someone that does not grasp the technology. While I can get through the basics of blogging, I really need a tool that everyone can understand and use. The local association of Realtors has tasked me with setting up a blog for business anouncements and I think this would be a great tool to handle just that. Thanks for your consideration.

I'd love to give it a try. I use Blogger now, but I'd love to be able to do some parsing between totally public vs. posts for friends.
I used to use LJ, but the designs are kind of myspace-y. I love the look of Vox.

I would love to try out Vox. On my own TypePad weblogs I only use advanced templates and I don't think Vox can cover everything I need. You can find my weblogs here, here and here.

Hi, John ..
I *love* Typepad. I consider myself a power-user of it and have gotten friends and family up and running as well, but only use the basic templates. I tried to switch over, but found it a little complicated. I'd love to test drive a starter account and do a comparison of VOX and Typepad. I'd like to do more with Typepad, but really don't want to do all the messing around w/ CSS etc.
Thanks ... k

My efforts to get my family blogging have included gifts of Typepad blogs for my sisters, with mixed success, so I was very interested when Comet was announced. I'd love to try out a Vox account - it looks as though it may be just what we need!
Thanks.

When I jumped over to typepad a year ago, I abandoned the personal writing I'd been doing on an lj for four years, in favor of less personal posts. I wanted to separate my humor writing for a mass audience (still working on that) from my personal posts. I'd like to get back to writing for friends again, and I think Vox is a great way to do that. I'd appreciate a starter invite.

Cheers for the offer regardless of the outcome.

Hi, i chanced upon your site while looking for vox invites. I was just wondering if you still have starter account invites to give away? I would love one, if you could. I dont exactly have the perfect explanation why I should have one but would like to find out more about vox. Thanks!

I would like to get a Vox account. I have been on LiveJournal for a couple of years and have been through so much harassment and drama on there, it would be wonderful to go some place new and be left alone. Like starting over fresh. Please consider sending me an invitation. Thank you!

If you still have starter accounts available, I would love one, please. I have been poking around on Vox for a few days now and I notice that it seems to be a creative, artsy, literary, Macintosh-friendly environment. Would a standard account allow for javascript integration?
Thank you so much. -Y.
