Over the weekend, I've been hacking together a couple examples of how you could build an online store in TypePad today. There are probably lots of ways to go about it, but I'm putting togther three versions that range between the extremely simple and the more elaborate. They're almost ready to link to, but not quite. Within the next couple hours probably.
I figure it makes sense to show what can be done, before talking about what it would be nice to be able to do. More soon.

Thanks so much for sharing this shopping cart concepts. I have been trying to tell friends that it is possible to create a shopping cart through Typepad. One typepad site I like is http://www.adirondax.com/ but they don't have it integrated into Paypal.
Please keep going with this, especially the user forum. It is so appreciated.

SB, thanks!
Michelle,
There's a lot more to come on the storefront idea. Posting is going to be a little slow this week but I've got a lot I want to cover on this topic. I'm also going to be talking about the idea with Michael Sippey, the GM for TypePad development… So I'm hoping that there's a very real chance that some of these ideas will be implemented. Stay tuned for updates.

Cool! I'm often getting asked about this, and haven't had time to write anything up.

It is still very early days yet but I am hoping to put together a Typepad based shop promoting French langauge audiobooks.
For an example please see:

I need to match-up the CD cover with the actual title yet ;-) but I think you can see where I'm coming from.
Regards
Craig
