One of the things I like about Typepad is that it generates valid code that should look the same in all browsers. So I don't have to spend as much time checking to be sure my sites display properly. I also don't look very often to see what browsers people are using to access my blogs. But I did today, and it was weird.
Take a look at this. It's a breakdown of which browsers people are using to view this blog. I think it's really interesting that there are twice as many FireFox users as there are people using IE. On my static web site for my artwork, the percentage of IE users is just under two thirds of all visitors. The same is true on my other blogs. So, I wonder, that must mean that TypePad users are much more hip to FireFox, right? There are more Mac users here too, although the difference in numbers isn't anywhere near as drastic. Just a couple percent.
I'm not sure what this means, exactly, but the stats were so massively skewed that I thought I'd mention it.
If you are one of the minority who is still using IE, I strongly suggest downloading and installing FireFox. It's free, it's safer, it's faster and it can be easily customized to do all kinds of things just the way you want them done. It isn't a hack, but it's a great tool.
